Best Home Fitness Equipment

Working out at home can be a big time saver for many people. There is nothing like being in the comfort of your own home. The challenges arise when trying to determine the best home fitness equipment to purchase for your gym. All the name brands, and features will surely have your head spinning.

In order to guarantee that I get the best piece of home fitness equipment for my needs, one of the sources I rely on is Consumer Reports. They provide an objective fitness equipment review that I can depend on to share with you.

In this article I am going to focus on the two most popular pieces of home workout equipment – the treadmill, and elliptical Best Home Gym Equipment  machine. More people invest in these two home fitness solutions to get in shape than any other piece of home workout equipment. Consumer Reports recently reviewed treadmills, and elliptical machines. Therefore, I have decided to share the results with you. If you are in the market for home cardiovascular equipment, then pay very close attention.

The trend witnessed in ellipticals, and treadmills is high tech features. Some have MP3 docks, and USB connections that will allow you to transfer your workout data to the manufacterurs website for safe storage. It also seem that home gym equipment manufacturers are attempting to make their equipment even smaller. Space in homes are generally an issue.

Consumer reports recently tested 19 elliptical machines to determine the best buys in the industry. They reviewed inexpensive machines as well as the most expensive pieces on the market. As I expected, they found that the pricier elliptical machines were made much better. Generally with home fitness equipment you get what you pay for.  The testers focused their study on exercise range, safety, ergonomics, and construction.

Alli Cautions

For all my valued subscribers, customers, and blog readers I want to warn you about counterfeit Alli! If you are not aware of Alli, it is a weight loss (over the counter) drug that decreases the absorption of fat in your intestines, thus reducing your overall caloric intake.

By now, if you have been reading the information I share, you already know that “quick fix weight loss programs” just don’t work long term. Therefore, I hope you are not taking Alli.  However, I do know that some people unfortunately get pulled in by the quick fix wonder, and might have turned to Alli.

In that event, I hope it is not you, but if it is, beware! The FDA has recently informed us that bogus versions of Alli are being sold, mainly over the internet. Taking these bogus pills could be harmful! The fake bottles are missing a “lot code” on top of the cardboard packaging. The bogus Alli will also not show “sealed for your protection” written on the bottle. Simply question your local pharmacist if you are unsure.

With that said, I am not endorsing Alli, but just warning you if you happen to be taking it.

In case you are not aware, here is the general scoop on Alli.

Alli is a reduced strength version of Orlistat (Xenical), a prescription weight loss medication. As a result of being reduced strength, it can be purchased over the counter for overweight individuals 18 years and older. It is taken while on a low fat diet. In a nutshell, Alli works by disabling the fat digestive enzyme, lipase, before it can be absorbed in the intestine. Therefore, you will save some calories from  the fat not being properly absorbed. The bad news is it can cause bowel issues, if you know what I mean.
