There is no doubt that proper Vitamin D intake is necessary for nearly everyone. Recent studies suggest that optimal Vitamin D intake may be near 5,000 IU daily! Which is 5x as much as the current standard - and 25 times as much as the standard from a few years ago. This more than suggest that Vitamin D is an extremely important vitamin that needs more attention.

Various research studies show that proper Vitamin D3 intake can lower risk of cancer, diabetes, depression, multiple sclerosis, cold & flu, etc.

Here is one study on Vitamin D in relation to depression and other neurological concerns:
“Several studies suggest an association between hypovitaminosis D and basic and executive cognitive functions, depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia.” Curr Psychiatry Rep. 2009 Feb;11(1):12-9.
