After personally training thousands of individuals I have witnessed one huge mistake most people are making when it comes to their fitness workouts. They set their workout goals too high!

It is not that fitness enthusiasts shouldn’t reach for the stars when setting goals; but they are simply going about it the wrong way.

Generally, when someone sets a fitness goal they initially think about the long term results such as losing 30 pounds, or gaining 100 pounds on their bench press. This is great as long as these lofty goals are broken down into smaller, more obtainable fitness goals.

The problem is when people think about losing 30 pounds, each and every day. The slow results can be rather frustrating. Fitness goalsetters want results right now, and don’t want to wait. Therefore, after a few weeks of working out, and eating right, they notice they only lost 3 pounds. Seeing such a small number has a tendency to discourage people. They feel it will take them 10 years in  order to lose the 30 pounds. Frustration then leads to people giving up on their fitness program altogether.

Therefore, the solution is to always keep that final goal in mind, but break it up into small, monthly goals.

Instead of having a mindset of losing 30 pounds each month, try focusing on loving 4 pounds each month. Losing 4 pounds of fat each month will yield a fat loss of 30 pounds in 6 months.

Isn’t it much more comfortable focusing on losing 4 pounds a month, or 1 pounds a week, instead of 30 pounds of fat?  This is the mindset you need to have to be successful at reaching any health, and fitness goal.

So remember, break your long term goals into monthly, or even weekly goals.

This fitness tip will assist you in obtaining your ultimate health, and fitness goals.
